Care and Support Staff

All employees are thoroughly vetted before commencing employment with Florence Avenue. Each employee holds a minimum of two written references from previous positions and an Enhanced Disclosure (DBS).




  • All staff must complete an extensive training programme including:
  • Earning their Care Certificate (Skills for Care).
  • A full induction programme.
  • Health and Safety training practices.
  • Person centred approach planning.
  • Safeguarding practices.
  • Mental capacity.
  • Anti-discriminatory practices.
  • First aid training practices.
  • Fundamental medical practices, including the administration of medications.
  • Management of challenging behaviour
  • Supporting people with challenging behaviour
  • ASD Autism and Autistic Spectrum training
  • Equality and Diversity training


All new staff that do not already hold a professional qualification will be registered for external formal training within 6 months of their appointment, pending availability.

Specialist training will be provided as necessary, with particular focus towards delivering the needs of people using our service.

All employees will adhere to Ridge Care Group Code of Conduct.
